G20 Climate Finance

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has in 2016 set up a Centre on Green Finance and Investment, the mission of which is to help catalyse and support the transition to a green, low-emissions and climate-resilient economy through the development of effective policies, institutions and instruments for green finance and investment.

Also the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), among others, have lately been active in developing concepts for green finance and helping to set up Green Financial Systems in developing and emerging economies. Examples of such countries are China, Kenya and Indonesia.
